Q: What scanners are supported with Laserfiche?
A: Laserfiche is extremely scanner-friendly. Laserfiche supports all scanners and scanner types that are ISIS, Twain or Kofax compliant. You may also utilize your existing copiers and wide format scanners as well. Visit the Laserfiche website to find out more.  

Q: Is it difficult and time-consuming to implement a system?
A: SMARTfiles has a wealth of experience in the educational sector.  In most instances, a complete solution can be installed, folder schema designed, user and security levels set, and training conducted within 2-3 days.   Enterprise clients require additional implementation time.  The SMARTfiles professional services team will make the implementation easy.  

Q: Will it be necessary to allocate my own staff during the implementation of a system?
A: Depending on the size and scope of the project, it is necessary to have one or two
individuals serve as project coordinators to work with the
SMARTfiles professional services team.  

Q: What is the range of sizes for which a system can be configured?
A: Each SMARTfiles system is custom designed to meet the individual needs of our clients.  We have implementations for less than five users, all the way to implementations into the thousands. With scalable solutions, we pride ourselves in giving our clients the ability to grow into their system, not out of it.  

Q: What back-end is required for a SMARTfiles system?
A: Microsoft SQL Express 2005/2008, Microsoft SQL 2005/2008, and Oracle 10G/11G are all supported.

Q: I have a warehouse full of paper I would like to have scanned into digital form. My problem is we do not have the personnel available to handle such a large job.
A: SMARTfiles will assist in back-file scanning and conversion when needed. In most cases, when a large amount of information must be scanned into electronic format, having it done by SMARTfiles is much more cost efficient and timely.  

Q: Will I need to go through the time consuming Request for Proposal process to acquire a SMARTfiles system?
A: Absolutely not. SMARTfiles has been awarded several state purchasing contracts that make acquisition easy and affordable. These contracts have saved our clients thousands of dollars in preparing Requests for Proposals, as well as eliminated the risks associated with them.  

Q: How difficult is it to learn and use Laserfiche?
A: Laserfiche is an extremely robust and easy solution to implement into your organization. SMARTfiles offers training to address different levels of users and their concerns. Most users will be very productive in using all the functionality following a 4-hour training class. SMARTfiles offers a complete training video module available for larger users where onsite training is not feasible. Of course, our greatest testament to this is our clients.  

Q: Does Laserfiche allow for integration with my existing software?
A: The Laserfiche Software Development Kit™ (SDK) provides the capability of quickly and cost-effectively developing custom Laserfiche integrations tailored to your business needs. The Laserfiche SDK provides all necessary COM libraries and documentation to integrate Laserfiche with third-party applications, customize system functionality, and automate Laserfiche-related tasks.
